Lorraine--The Cat Club in West Hollywood
The tag line, "It's l little bit country--a little bit rock & roll," fits Lorraine perfectly. This former lead singer for MCA hair-metal act, Femme Fatale, has gone country and hunkered down smack in the middle of her roots...Who knew that this hard rock wild woman actually had a rustic soul? On top of that shocking development is the fact that her country/rock tunes are potential crossover hits. With songs that are genuine, moving and skillfully crafted, this songwriter is ready for Nashville. In fact, "American Girl" and "rodeo Clown" are so good, it'll be no surprise when the Grand Ol' Opry extends her an invitation.

Lorraine's voice has a hard rock edge around a country twang that is a cut above Shania Twain's. Her backup band is serviceable and certainly gets the job done. They're a group of road dogs who know how to play like pros, but it would have been more effective if the band had the same intensity as Lorraine's vocals. That really isn't a huge problem in this case, however, because it's "the voice" that sells these songs. Heartfelt and strong Lorraine's vocals are the ideal vehicle for her sharp lyrics and memorable melodies.

After seeing Lorraine's show, it is hard to believe that this young rocker was performing in the hair metal days. Her personality comes across as sweet and sincere, even thought her lyrics imply a worldly cynicism. She relates with her audience as if they're old friends, which gives her performance an intimate, down-home, country feel...Lorraine is a country-rock artist who is an excellent songwriter.

At least one of her songs ("American Girl") is already receiving a ton of airplay. Indeed, if the country music industry is looking for the next crossover sensation, they need to look no further than this artist.

The StudioClub caught her show at the Cat Club on Sunset Blvd. this January 2002.
With some hot players, Lorraine's set of great songs gave me the feeling of the country rock sound that was born back in Hollywood at the Troubadour, when Linda Rondstadt, the Eagles, Jackson Browne and others were taking off. Love her sensual
LA edge and her great home town New Mexico girl singing straight from the heart feeling.
